Due to the unexpected and abundant snowfalls of November, the ski season has started off quite early in the Italian Dolomites.
The Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski circuit in Italy, has seen thousands of skiers and snowboarders challenge the slopes of the Faloria peak and Col Gallina over the last two weeks.
Thinking of joining them or more interested in a bit of social life?
No problem: Cortina d'Ampezzo is the ideal location for sportifs and trendsetters as well.
Let's discover the rich agenda of events and appointments in Cortina d'Ampezzo in December 2019.

The best strudel of the Dolomites? Well, the one of Pasticceria Fiori ranks quite high in the list
Preparing and cooking cakes, strudel and cookies since 1910, Pasticceria Fiori is quite an institution in this part of the Italian Dolomites.
The little village of San Vito di Cadore, where the painter Titian was born, is probably more known for its strudel: a special wrap filled with sweet apples, honey, almonds, pines and raisins.
Not much into apples and raisins?
Give a try to their krapfen, typical donought-like sweet covered with powdered sugar (make sure you clean your face after biting one!) filled with cream or marmalade and to their cake Linzer with blueberry.
We love them because
- they are open from 7 am to 9 pm
- you can get your sweets and drive back to your cozy room at Ambra Cortina for a yummy tea or a different after dinner
