SLEDGES AND SNOWMOBILES AT THE FEDERA MOUNTAIN COTTAGE!
Una delle esperienze più amate dai visitatori di Cortina d’Ampezzo!
This is one of the best-loved experiences of people visiting Cortina d’Ampezzo!
The Snowservice team recommends this fun excursion at Malga Federa from December to March and organises three different opportunities to unwind.
We start with an exciting snowmobile ride that takes you from the crossroads to Lake Pianozes to Malga Federa, at 1814 metres: an enchanting place immersed in nature and which offer a breath-taking view of the valley of Cortina and all the surrounding peaks.
The old, original malga which was recently restructured is still active and functional and can house a traditional restaurant that can hold up to 70 people. You can stop here for a snack, lunch or dinner (the cost is separate and booking is always required given how popular the malga is).
You can return to the centre alone with the small sledges and torches provided by the Snowservice, on a dream-like descent across the forest road which will take you back to Lake Pianozes. (Important: although this trail is suitable for everyone, it is not an officially-approved sled trail, but a forest road. We therefore advise you to pay attention when descending the trail and inform you that you are fully responsible: please read all the details here).

This experience requires little physical effort; however, if you feel unsafe, we recommend enlisting the services of a professional Alpine guide (you can contact the Cortina Alpine Guides on: +39 0436 868505 – info@guidecortina.com). Remember to book one week in advance in order to receive all the necessary information and to secure your guide).
If you feel confident and who wish to go it alone, you simply have to rent the designated excursion kit provided by the Snowservice booking system. Guests staying at the Ambra Cortina Hotel receive a 12% discount on all rental prices if booking online (by clicking on the button below) and a 10% discount if booking at the shop.
All detailed information, the maps of the itinerary and useful advice on the walking trail and piste will be provided by the Snowservice team upon collecting your material.
