What to do in September in the Dolomites?

Time flies by and the summer is almost over.
No panic! Cortina D'Ampezzo and the Dolomites still have plenty of juicy appointments to bright up your days and evenings in September.

Here is a short list of what to do in September in the Dolomites around Cortina.
Many more events are on the way and we are going to update this list every now and then.
So check it out.

The exhibition on Maximilian I of Habsburg

The collective ownership of land , pastures and woods is one of the Regole di Ampezzo, a collection of rules, habits and traditions ruling public life here in the valley D'Ampezzo.
The exhibition at Museo Etnografico in Cortina illustrates the role of the first of the emperors of the Hasburg family in the tradition of the Regole.
Maximilian I was not a man of peace, at all: he went to war againts many lords in Italy and in Europe and he destroyed the Castle of Pieve di Cadore, not far from Cortina.
And yet, he acknowledged the use of the Regole D'Ampezzo and gave them an officiality which they were still losing.
A contradictory and fascinating character of the European history.
