Cortina? The ideal place to fall in love.
The stories collected in "Bye, Bye Cortina" are a clear proof of this romantic statememt.
The book written by Elisabetta Dotto, the owner of Ambra Cortina, is a collection of short stories happened at hotel Ambra Cortina over 15 years.
The hotel Ambra Cortina is a celebration of love in itself.
Some suites are cozy nests dedicated to romantic characters:
- The suite Sissi takes its name from the Austro Ungarian empress Elisabetta, Sissi and her passionate love story with the Emperor Francesco Giuseppe.
- The Luxury Roof suite Afrodite (Aphrodite) is an hymn to the Goddess of love and it is exactly where the young and mysterious man coming from Prague asked to stay for...a full month.
Elisabetta tells his story in the pages of the short story "Jewels ans sweets"
What happens in the suites and the rooms of hotel Ambra Cortina?

A love story between Cortina and Prague
When the young and elegant man asked to stay in the suite Afrodite for a full month, the staff at Ambra Cortina was a little surprised: he had not reserved in advance, he had arrived by taxi late in the morning and even more suspiciously he had no suitcase but just a tailor-made coat folded on his arm.
Elisabetta Dotto agreed to reserve the suite for him and asked to be informed about every request of that enygmatic man from...nowhere.
She even escorted him on a shopping tour along Corso Italia, the most elegant avenue of Cortina and in some small boutiques to buy a full wardrobe upon his specific request a few days after his arrival.
He had arrived all at once and all at once he left, a month later.
An old man came to take him home to Prague; it was probably his father.
But the mystery did not stop here: some time later, a letter arrived at Ambra Cortina.
The young man thanked Elisabetta and her staff for his lovely stay and asked a second special courtesy.
Elisabetta left early the following morning to deliver a precious small package to a small shop in a village nearby.
Who was the package for?
It's a secret: you can read about it in "Bye, bye Cortina" or just have a coffee in the hotel lounge and ask directly to Elisabetta.

A perfect couple
It's so nice to see a lovely couple all smiles and sparkling eyes walk inside a hotel.
The Mirandolina suite seemed to be really the perfect room for them: all in red, with a canopy bed right in the centre of the room and a small and secret balcony overlooking the Dolomites.
Except...except when things get a little too "hot" and other guests complain for noises and yells in the middle of the night and the night receptionist is forced to move an entire family of 6 people from 3 rooms to 3 other rooms on a different floor with many excuses.
But...what had happened to the perfect couple in the romantic Mirandolina suite?
Well, sometimes not all that glitters is gold and the perfect couple revealled to be not so perfect.
The following morning, a Louboutin shoe was found on a heap of white snow under the balcony of the suite and the second shoe is still to be founf after all these years.
The couple left early in the morning and never came back.
Sometimes, you come to Cortina and you realize you are not living your romantic dream.
