We love try new restaurants and discover the new openings or the classics of the local cuisine here in Cortina.

Bistrot dell'Hotel de la Poste
Cozy venue at the ground foor of the Hotel de la Poste.
Nothing elaborated, easy and savoury food.
Do not miss: the souflé they serve as a dessert.
It comes with two different sauces, raspberry syrup and chocolate syrup.
Da Aurelio at Passo Giau
Make sure you are arriving by sunset so as to enjoy the spectacle of the sun hiding behind the peaks
The restaurant has a local flavour and the cuisine is just incredible.
Seasonal products, innovative combinations of flavours.
We love it.
Ristorante Al Camin
Lovely place a few miles from the centre of Cortina.
Meat is really excellent.
Service as well.
Ristorate Lodge Alverà
Again, make sure you are having dinner by the large windows at the second or third floor when it's dark.
The view over the twon and the valley is breathtaking.
Chocolateaholic? This is your place: ask for their special dessert. It's a ball of cocoa.
When they pour hot chocolate on it, the ball melts and there are no words to explain the effects.
Just go and try it.

Want to try the real Casunziei ampezzani? That's the place.
The "casunziei" are ravioli stuffed with beet roots.
Could not find anything interesting? Ok, no problem.

Go visit a museum in Cortina d'Ampezzo
3 museums to visit in Cortina just a stone's throw from our hotel.
If you are brave enough, get on the cableway to Lagazuoi and visit the Lagazuoi Expo.
Museo d'Arte Moderna Mario Rimoldi
De Pisis, Sironi, Rosai, Martini, Severini, Tosi, Guttuso, Vedova and many other modern art artists'works are gathered here at Museo d'Arte Moderna Mario Rimoldithanks to the passion and efforts of Mr Rimoldi, a local.
When he died, his widow left the whole collection to the twon of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Did you know?The Hermitage Museum of Saint Petersburg wanted to buy the picture "La Zolfara" by Guttuso, but Rimoldi refused.
The picture "La Zolfara" can be admired in the museum today.

Museo Paleontologico Rinaldo Zardini
There was a time when tropical marine creatures swom sensually in the sea here in the Dolomites.
We are talking about the Triassic period, approx 252 millions years ago.

Museo etnografico delle Regole d'Ampezzo
The "Regole" was the name of the body of laws which ruled and still rules the collective use of land (prairies, fields, woods) of the valley around Cortina.
The "Casa delle Regole" hosts an exhibition of everyday objects and accessories of the old times (costumes, pans, rifles etc) documenting the story of this area.

Lagazuoi Expo Dolomiti
Get on the cableway to reach the Lagazuoi Refugio and enetr the Lagazuoi Expo centre: 4 halls and a breathtaking terrace over the valley.
The terrace itself is worth the trip.

Full relax in your suite
You were dreaming of spending your days walking in woods or trekking on the highest peaks of the Dolomites and..it's rainig.
Always look for the bright side of it: you can curl up in your bed and spend the morning reading.
Start like this: order a late breakfast in room (yes, we do serve breakfast till 11 am) and pick up one of the books or the magazines of our selection.
When you are over with your yummy breakfast, it's bathtub time: fill the jacuzzi tub with warm water and add some of the amber scented salts you'll find in your suite. You can even sip some "spumante" and nibble at some fruit: a chilled bottle of spumante and a basket of fresh fruit await for you in your suite.
After your bath, do not forget to rehydratate your skin applying the amber scented body lotion and relax.
Now, it'sup to you: reach the hotel lounge for a hot cocoa or a hot tea while chatting with Elisabetta, the hotel owner or walk up to Sovilla, the antique library of Cortina and get lost in the maze of books and charming stories of Cortina and the world.
